Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool

"Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool" activex program found in

"c:\windows\Downloaded Program Files" folder.

Just open "my computer" in winxp, then "Tools" > "Folder options" > View > check "Show hidden files and folders"

and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" temporarily and then

OK.

browse to "C:\windows\Downloaded Program Files" folder, and check if there is an activex program call "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool".

i cannot confirm 100 percent if the "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool" activex program is a virus but my hunch says something is wrong as i had already disabled the "automatic windows update" in control panel.

Will get back to you if i found out anything about the "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool" activex program.

i am assuming it is an imposter "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool" file but still have to confirm it.

meanwhile, if you want to right-click on "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool" and click remove, do it with caution as i do not know if there will be any side effects to the computer.

meanwhile too, try to let your friends know about this if it is true or not. just feel weird about the file.

the real "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool" should be downloaded when the "automatic windows update" is enabled in control panel but this is weird as my "automatic windows update" is already disabled!!!!!!
